I am a passionate Early Childhood Educator with a Level 3 certification with training in early brain development and trauma-informed care. I have been working in the early learning field for 30 years and my approach is founded on the belief that children have the capability, ingenuity, and creativity to be both participants and leaders in their educational communities. I love watching them explore, experiment, and build meaningful connections through play. As a program supervisor, I am passionate about teaching and coaching staff to foster supportive environments and best practices that support children’s emotional regulation and build resilience.

I am a Level One Early Childhood Educator with over 15 years of hands-on experience supporting children and families. While raising my own children, I operated a day home. This gave me an understanding of early childhood development in both homebased and structured care settings. My long-standing commitment to early learning is rooted in creating meaningful, trusting relationships with children and their families. I believe children learn best in a relaxed, fun, engaging, and nurturing environment, one where they feel safe, valued, and confident to be themselves. I aim to design playbased experiences that encourage children to explore, imagine, and communicate through open-ended conversations and activities. By following children’s interests and allowing learning to unfold naturally through play, I support curiosity, creativity, and a genuine love of learning. A strong focus of my practice is fostering independence and building self-esteem. I encourage children to make choices, try new skills at their own pace, and take pride in their accomplishments, big and small. Through positive guidance, gentle encouragement, and consistent support, I try to help children develop confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning and social-emotional growth.

I am passionate about learning new things, particularly in child development, including physical, cognitive, social, affective, language, and creative growth. Through my experience, I have had the privilege of working with children of various ages in early learning and child care settings. Through these experiences, I have learned how unique and capable children are at every stage of development. Every child comes from a different background and brings their own strengths, interests, and ways of thinking. As educators, we also come from different experiences that shape the way we understand children. The “image of the child” reminds me that children are active learners, full of potential, and curiosity. When we truly see children with respect and an open heart, we recognize how much they teach us about patience, imagination, and the importance of growing together as a community. This perspective encourages me to continue learning, reflecting, and improving in my practice. I value building positive relationships with families, learning from colleagues, and contributing to a team that prioritizes children’s well-being and development. Working with young children has taught me the importance of nurturing their curiosity, celebrating their progress, and helping them grow into confident, capable learners.
